Majulah Package

The Majulah Package is a support package for Singapore citizens born in 1973 or earlier. It includes a yearly Earn and Save Bonus (ESB), a one-time Retirement Savings Bonus paid in December 2024, and a one-time MediSave Bonus paid in December 2024. GovBenefits says the package benefits about 1.6 million Singaporeans (GovBenefits, updated 8 Jul 2026). The package is distinct from ordinary CPF interest and from other support schemes with separate eligibility rules.

Earn and Save Bonus eligibility

For the yearly ESB, a citizen born in 1973 or earlier must generally work and earn an average monthly income of S$500 to S$6,000, live in a residence with Annual Value (AV) of S$31,000 or less, and own no more than one property. The relevant Annual Value or property conditions are part of the eligibility test. The assessment is yearly: GovBenefits says it uses income from the preceding Year of Assessment and residence AV and property ownership as at 30 November of the preceding year (GovBenefits, updated 8 Jul 2026).

For the 2026 ESB, average monthly income is defined using total employment and trade income earned in 2024 divided by the number of months worked in 2024, corresponding to YA2025. The income figure is therefore not simply a current monthly payslip amount. Persons with disabilities, people receiving ComCare Short-to-Medium Term Assistance, and qualifying caregivers may qualify for a concessionary ESB of S$400 even when their income is below S$500 per month, subject to the published conditions (GovBenefits, updated 8 Jul 2026).

2026 ESB amounts and CPF crediting

For the 2026 ESB, GovBenefits lists an annual bonus of S$1,000 for average monthly income from S$500 to S$2,500, S$700 for income above S$2,500 to S$3,500, and S$400 for income above S$3,500 to S$6,000. These are income bands for the annual bonus, not a promise that every citizen born in 1973 or earlier receives the same amount (GovBenefits, updated 8 Jul 2026).

The ESB is credited to the Retirement Account when available, otherwise the Special Account. For citizens aged 55 or older who have set aside CPF savings equal to the Full Retirement Sum, or the Basic Retirement Sum with property, GovBenefits says the ESB is paid to the Ordinary Account. Individual eligibility should be checked through the official GovBenefits e-services with Singpass (GovBenefits, updated 8 Jul 2026).

One-time bonuses and interpretation

The Retirement Savings Bonus and MediSave Bonus were one-time components paid in December 2024; they should not be described as recurring 2026 payments. The ESB is the recurring component and its eligibility is reassessed annually using the applicable income, AV, property and special-category rules (GovBenefits, updated 8 Jul 2026). A current answer should state the relevant assessment year and distinguish the ESB from the completed one-time bonuses.
