WeCare Arts Experiences

WeCare Arts Experiences (WCAE) is a collaboration between the National Arts Council (NAC) and Singapore's five Community Development Councils (CDCs). It helps beneficiaries from less privileged backgrounds attend selected ticketed arts and cultural programmes curated by NAC and participating cultural institutions for free. The scheme is intended to make shared arts experiences more accessible and to support bonding among beneficiaries, immediate family members, caregivers, and befrienders; it is not a general free-ticket entitlement for all residents (CDC Singapore, updated 28 July 2026, accessed 29 August 2026).

What the scheme supports

WCAE supports the tickets, transportation, and light refreshments needed to facilitate attendance at selected performances and exhibitions. The CDC page identifies eligible participants as beneficiaries receiving social-service-agency services or assistance, beneficiaries receiving financial and social assistance from community partners, their immediate family members, and volunteers accompanying them. NAC and Singapore's arts and cultural institutions select the ticketed experiences with different age groups and families in mind; the scheme therefore concerns access to curated programmes rather than a subsidy for any event chosen independently by a participant (CDC Singapore, updated 28 July 2026, accessed 29 August 2026).

Who applies and how it relates to other support

Social service agencies, grassroots organisations, and Self-Help Groups can apply for WCAE with the relevant CDC. The scheme is consequently accessed through participating organisations and CDC arrangements, not by treating every resident as a direct individual grant applicant. WCAE should also be distinguished from the SG Culture Pass, ordinary arts-ticket purchases, and CDC household-assistance schemes: its published purpose is to facilitate selected arts experiences for eligible beneficiaries and their accompanying supporters. Current programme selection, application guidance, and CDC contacts should be checked against the official page because these operational details may change (CDC Singapore, updated 28 July 2026, accessed 29 August 2026).
