Climate Adaptation Package
The Climate Adaptation Package is a new SG Eco Fund support category for projects that promote climate-adaptation awareness and community action in Singapore, including heat resilience, flood protection, water conservation and local produce.
Climate Adaptation Package
The Climate Adaptation Package is a support category under Singapore's SG Eco Fund for projects that promote awareness and community action on climate adaptation. MSE introduced it in 2026, when Singapore designated 2026 as the Year of Climate Adaptation. The package is a project-grant pathway, not a universal household payout or a declaration that every adaptation project is funded (Ministry of Sustainability and the Environment, 6 May 2026; Prime Minister's Office, 11 May 2026).
What projects it supports
MSE identifies four focus areas: building heat resilience, protecting against floods, conserving water, and supporting local produce. Examples include community volunteer networks and systems to help residents monitor and reduce heat stress; projects in which students and communities co-create flood-protection solutions; water-conservation awareness and action for households; and efforts that raise awareness of local farms and encourage consumption of local produce (MSE, Climate Adaptation Package).
The package is therefore aimed at practical adaptation awareness and action. It should be distinguished from the Heat Resilience Policy Office, which coordinates government heat-resilience policy and research, and from coastal-protection works and weather-science programmes, which address infrastructure planning or scientific capability rather than this community-grant category.
Funding level and application period
The package provides funding of up to 90% of supportable cost items, capped at a grant amount of up to S$1 million. The percentage and ceiling are maximums subject to the fund's qualifying-cost and assessment conditions; they do not mean that an applicant automatically receives 90% or S$1 million (MSE, Climate Adaptation Package).
Applications are open year-round from 1 May 2026 through 30 April 2028, regardless of the funding amount requested. This differs from the SG Eco Fund's Main category, which MSE says has a specific annual application window. Applicants should use the current application form and portal instructions rather than relying on older SG Eco Fund forms or dates (MSE, Climate Adaptation Package).
Who can apply and what to prepare
Eligible applicant categories listed by MSE include individuals who are Singapore Citizens or Permanent Residents aged 18 or older and residing in Singapore; teams of individuals meeting the stated age, residence and citizenship condition; Singapore-registered organisations such as companies, charities and non-government organisations; and government agencies. For organisations seeking more than S$30,000, MSE lists additional supporting documents including an ACRA or Registry of Societies profile, audited financial reports for the last three years where applicable, and key project-team CVs. Applicants should check the current portal, proposal-deck template, and SG Eco Fund terms for the complete submission requirements and assessment process (MSE, Climate Adaptation Package).
The package belongs to Singapore's broader climate-adaptation agenda, but it does not replace national adaptation planning or establish a right to grant funding. A project can be relevant to heat, floods, water, or local food and still need to satisfy the fund's supportable-cost, applicant, proposal, and assessment conditions.
