QuranSG

QuranSG is a MUIS initiative launched at Kampung Siglap Mosque on 6 June 2026 to deepen engagement with the Quran beyond recitation and memorisation towards understanding, reflection and application in everyday life. MUIS describes it as a six-month series of programmes for Singapore's Muslim community, not a new religious qualification, compulsory assessment or replacement for mosque and madrasah learning (MUIS, 6 June 2026).

Tadabbur resource and community activities

The central resource is a Tadabbur E-Book, developed by MUIS with Darul Tafsir at Al-Khair Mosque. MUIS presents the e-book as a beginner-friendly guide explaining what tadabbur is, why reflection matters and how to approach it safely through steps leading from recitation to understanding and application. The QuranSG Roadshow carries Quranic-reflection segments to mosques across Singapore's districts from May to September 2026, led by local asatizah; the activity dates overlap the launch period because the roadshow began before the launch event (MUIS, 6 June 2026).

TadabburSG challenge and programme timeline

The TadabburSG competition invited members of the public to submit short videos sharing reflections on Quranic verses during a 50-day challenge from 29 May to 20 July 2026. MUIS also scheduled four bilingual TadabburSG talkshows at mosques on 10 July, 24 July, 7 August and 4 September 2026. The six-month initiative is intended to culminate in the QuranSG Seminar and Festival in November 2026, while the source's schedules describe programme plans and participation opportunities, not compulsory attendance or a universal learning requirement (MUIS, 6 June 2026).

Relationship to Quranic learning in Singapore

QuranSG adds a reflection-and-application emphasis to MUIS's wider religious-education ecosystem. It does not collapse distinct practices: tilawah concerns recitation, tahfiz memorisation, tafsir interpretation through scholarly guidance, and tadabbur reflective engagement. QuranSG therefore should not be described as a new certification route, a replacement for asatizah or mosque teaching, or a ruling that changes Singapore's religious law; it is a public-facing MUIS programme that encourages accessible Quranic learning and reflection (MUIS, Tadabbur — One verse, endless guidance, 5 June 2026; MUIS, 4 July 2026).
