Singapore Convention on Mediation Anchors
Structured anchors for the Singapore Convention on Mediation: its covered settlement population, exclusions, required evidence, and Singapore's treaty status dates.
Singapore Convention on Mediation Anchors
These rows ground retrieval about the treaty. They describe the Convention's scope and Singapore's status; they do not decide whether a particular settlement is enforceable in a requested State.
Scope and prerequisites
| Anchor | Value | Retrieval boundary |
|---|---|---|
| Covered instrument | International settlement agreement resulting from mediation | The agreement must arise from an international commercial dispute |
| Evidence accompanying a request | Signed settlement agreement plus evidence that it resulted from mediation | Examples include a mediator's signature, mediator document, or administering-institution attestation |
| Listed exclusions | Family, inheritance and employment disputes; agreements enforceable as court judgments or arbitral awards | Do not treat every mediated agreement as Convention-eligible |

Interpretation boundary
Singapore's hosting of the signing ceremony and ratification are treaty-status facts, not a guarantee that a settlement made in Singapore is enforceable everywhere. For a real enforcement question, identify the settlement's international and commercial character, its mediation evidence, the exclusions, and the requested State's treaty status as of the relevant date (UNCITRAL Convention text; UNCITRAL treaty status, accessed 8 September 2026).
