Private Tuition Household Spending

These values are household expenditure averages from Singapore's Household Expenditure Survey 2023. They are not tuition-centre price lists, per-child fees, or averages only among households that purchased tuition. Preserve the household type and reference year whenever using a value.

Retrieval and comparison rules

When comparing tuition expenditure across household groups, keep the denominator as resident household and retain the household-composition condition. The S$548 figure is especially prone to denominator loss: it describes average monthly private-tuition expenditure for married-couple households whose youngest child was aged 7–15 in the 2023 survey; it does not mean every Singapore household, every household with a child, or every participating tuition customer paid S$548.

Household expenditure should also not be used as a direct estimate of tuition-industry revenue without additional adjustments. One household can pay for several children, subjects or providers, while some households report zero tuition spending. For current pricing or current aggregate spending after 2023, retrieve a newer official survey or provider-specific evidence rather than inflating this dataset mechanically.
