Three-Year Fire Certificate Regime (1 April 2026)

SCDF extended Fire Certificate validity from one year to three years from 1 April 2026 for buildings that require an FC and have a good compliance track record (SCDF circular, accessed Aug 2026). Building owners must still engage a Professional Engineer for annual inspections and submit the FC form certifying systems are in good working condition; SCDF audits can occur in non-renewal years (SCDF circular, accessed Aug 2026).

A Fire Certificate is an administrative compliance duty, not a substitute for dialling 995 during a fire (fire and ambulance services; emergency services and safety). Year context: major dated anchors.
