President's Challenge 2026
President's Challenge 2026 supports 62 social-impact programmes from 60 organisations, with emphasis on early intervention, second chances and inclusive opportunities.
President's Challenge 2026
President's Challenge is a national social-impact initiative that promotes unity and respect by supporting people facing greater challenges, nurturing talent in the arts and sports, and enabling leaders and role models to create social impact. For the 2026 cycle, the official factsheet says 62 programmes from 60 organisations will be supported, broadly covering early intervention, second chances and inclusive opportunities (President's Challenge 2026 Media Factsheet, 30 Apr 2026). The current President's Challenge website summarises this as 60 new programmes supported for up to five years (President's Challenge, accessed 29 Aug 2026); the factsheet's programme count should be used for the detailed 2026 cycle.
Programme focus and funding orientation
The 2026 portfolio includes programmes for children and families, people recovering from behavioural addictions, persons with disabilities, people rebuilding their lives after setbacks, and other communities needing sustained support. Examples in the factsheet include REACH Community Services' Project GEMinate, One Hope Centre's Behavioural Addiction Recovery Programme and The RICE Company's Mascot Engagement Programme (President's Challenge 2026 Media Factsheet, 30 Apr 2026). The initiative's 2025 refresh shifted emphasis from short-term assistance toward uplifting aspirations and potential, with longer-term funding intended to support deeper and more lasting impact; this is a programme strategy, not a general cash entitlement for individuals (President's Challenge 2026 Media Factsheet, 30 Apr 2026).
Fellowship and partnership pathways
The President's Challenge Fellowship opened a fresh batch of applications for its Civic Action, Springboard and ITE Inspire tracks from 4 May to 12 June 2026. The Civic Action track develops new approaches in the social sector, Springboard supports people bouncing back from major setbacks, and ITE Inspire recognises ITE graduates with outstanding career achievements (President's Challenge 2026 Media Factsheet, 30 Apr 2026). The fellowship is a separate leadership and development pathway from the 62 funded programmes.
President's Challenge also works through impact partnerships in sports, arts and culture. The factsheet describes support for the NAC Arts Scholarships, the Enabling Sports Fund and cultural participation through Chingay, among other partnerships. The Enabling Sports Fund component supports community-initiated disability-sport initiatives and earlier talent identification; the factsheet says 21 proposals were expected to benefit more than 8,000 persons with disabilities across more than 20 sports (President's Challenge 2026 Media Factsheet, 30 Apr 2026). Those partnership figures describe their specific programmes and are not a national participation rate.
