Singapore–United States Relations

Singapore's relationship with the United States is one of its deepest bilateral partnerships: formal diplomatic ties since 1966, the US as Singapore's largest foreign investor and top services-trading partner, the 2004 US–Singapore Free Trade Agreement (still Washington's only FTA with an ASEAN member), extensive defence cooperation including US access to Singapore facilities, and large SAF training detachments in the United States — all managed within Singapore's wider balancing act between Washington and Beijing.
